Alive Studios specialise in remastering Video Tapes and converting them to DVD.
We are based in Nottinghamshire, England and have studios which are open to the public.
Why should you transfer your Video tapes to DVD?
Videotapes deteriorate over time. Heat,
humidity, and improper storage take their toll
on tapes, decaying the magnetic particles that
represent your child's first steps. By digitizing
that old footage now, you can effectively stop
the deterioration in its tracks, and with our remastering service, actually improve the quality of the picture.
How good is the process? |

It is possible to simply hook up a tape player to a DVD burner and make a copy - or even buy a cheap video-to-dvd burner from your local Curry's. However, if you want to get the best possible from your films, and preserve them for your future family, you should do it professionally, so you'll need what we use here at Alive Studios...
We start by playing your films through our high-end
broadcast-quality VHS-Deck System. This plays the film with the highest strength possible. The signal is passed through our film remastering hardware which detects and fixes the common problems with tapes such as poor tracking, jumping, wobbly edges, fuzzy flecks etc. The sound hardware detects the hissing and 'noise' experienced on video tapes and attempts to restore that, often making huge improvements. Once captured, our editors carefully scan through your footage looking for areas of unwanted footage such as 'black' recordings where you've taped over something you didn't like, or have left the camera running by accident pointed at a wall! After a good tidy-up up your film, we apply colour correction filters to improve the overall colour balance and strength. Finally, we can add music, a themed DVD menu with chapters, text titles and so on, to really add the finishing touches to your movie.
So don't just copy your tapes - remaster them, improve them, love them!

Info
about transfer with restoration |
 |
This
system has always been reserved for remastering
and restoring valuable archive
footage for major TV studios and museums.
However, over the last few years we have
been inundated with demand for this service
by members of the public, so 2 years
ago launched this system making all the
amazing features of this kind of transfer
available to everyone.
|
 |
The
transfer digitally remasters and
repairs your film through our professional
editing suites before it
is output to DVD. Results do vary depending
on the quality you send us, and what
has caused the problems. some films experience
a small improvement, whilst others are
breathtakingly better.
|
 |
Customers
are astonished to find that films that
jump to the point of being unwatchable
due to tracking problems and stretched,
saggy tapes, can become viewable
film once more. Worn out and degraded
tapes which have washed out colours,
orange skin tones, and white fuzzy flecks,
can be improved.
Depending on the source film, results
can differ from job to job. If you have
a large collection of film to transfer,
why not sample the service on one tape
to see just how much we can do for you.
